Laura Pisani

Praised as a “revealing soprano voice”, Ms. Pisani is going to make her US debut in 2018 singing The Queen of the night (The Magic Flute, Mozart) with the Florentine Opera Company, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For Teatro Colón, she will be covering the role of Natacha in Peter Eötvös’s opera Three Sisters and be part of the reprise of João Ripper’s Piedade.

Ms. Laura Pisani’s recent engagements have included five roles at Teatro Colón (2017 season): Mlle. Jouvenot (Adriana Lecouvreur, Cilea, cover), Milliner (Der Rosenkavalier, Strauss), Ein Mädchen (Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny, Kurt Weill), Anna Da Cunha (Piedade, João Ripper) and First wood sprite (Rusalka, Dvôrak).

During 2016 she performed Die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte) with Juventus Lyrica Company at Centro Cultural Konex of Buenos Aires, Musetta (La Bohème) with Ensamble Lírico Orquestal at Auditorio de Belgrano, Buenos Aires, and Carolina (Luisa Fernanda, Moreno Torroba’s zarzuela) with Mozarteum San Juan, Argentina. She has also taken part in the children’s show “Ópera del Minuto”, a production as part of the cycle “Vamos a la ópera” at Teatro Colón of Buenos Aires.

She won the Alejandro Cordero Singing Competition, an exclusive competition that allowed her to sing three concerts at the Manhattan School of Music and the Americas Society in New York in 2016.

Her many opera performances include: Despina (Cosí fan tutte, Ciudad Cultural Konex, Buenos Aires, 2010), Suor Dolcina and Suor Osmina (Suor Angelica, Espacio Giesso, Buenos Aires, 2011), Adina (L’elisir d’amore, Teatro Lírico, Posadas, Misiones, 2012), Die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte, Juventus Lyrica, Teatro Avenida, Buenos Aires, 2013), Musetta (La bohéme, Juventus Lyrica, Teatro Avenida, Buenos Aires, 2013), Dircé and Premiere Femme (Médeé, Cherubini, Opera2day Company and Juventus Lyrica Company, Theater aan de Schie, The Hague Royal Theater, Theater de Vest, Rotterdamse Schowburg, Theater De Spiegel, Amstelveen Schouwburg, Deventer Schouwburg, Hoorn Het Park, Nijmegen Stadsschouwburg, Eindhoven Parkheater, Heerlen Theater, Netherlands, and Teatro Avenida de Buenos Aires, 2013/2014 season), and Olympia (Les contes d’Hoffmann, Juventus Lyrica, Teatro Avenida, 2014).

On the concert stage, Ms. Pisani has sung Bach’s “Wedding” Cantata, BWV 82, N° 202, Exsultate Jubilate, K165 (Mozart); Messa di Gloria (Rossini); G Major Mass, N°2, D167 (Schubert); Stabat Mater (Pergolesi) and Gloria, RV 589 (Vivaldi).

In May 2017, Laura Pisani attended to David Gowland’s Masterclass (Artistic Director of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, ROH) at Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires.

In August 2015, she was granted a scholarship by the VoiceExperience Foundation and Dr. Alejandro Cordero to participate in the Apprentice Program Milnes Voice Studio, conducted by Sherrill Milnes, in Savannah, Georgia, USA, and also qualified for the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition.

In 2013, she won the first prize in the Bienal Juvenil Shell- Festivales Musicales 2013/ 2014 Singing Competition.

Laura Pisani studied Voice and Piano at the Conservatory Alberto Ginastera in Morón, Buenos Aires. She is currently a student at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón, ISATC (Colón Theatre’s Higher Institute of Art), her teachers being Gustavo López Manzitti and Eduviges Picone.
